Pembroke Castle
The magnificent Norman Castle dominates Pembroke, the site being fortified since 1093. It was the birthplace of Henry VII and was held for both sides during the Civil War. Roland Laugharne, the garrison commander, sparked off the second Civil War when he changed sides due to grievances with the parliament commissioners.
