The prices for my original paintings are based on the number of hours it takes to finish them (usually at least 2 days). Detailed views of castles etc are usually a little more expensive than less detailed works. I also have to consider the cost of the framing, paper, paints and other materials. My studio costs a set amount per day and this too must be allowed for. Visiting the subject of a painting brings indirect costs such as car fuel and camera film. The figure I arrive at reflects what I consider to be a reasonable daily wage after my other costs have been paid.
